CrossFit classes are a 1 Hour high intensity class designed to get you strong and fit. We combine weightlifting, gymnastics, plyometrics and more to get you the best results. Most classes involve a weightlifting portion or skill portion and a high intensity WOD (Workout of the Day).
You will be working with a coach for a one hour class in which they will take you through a general warm up, skipping, rowing, running. They will then take you through a specific warm up of introducing the movements needed for the workout of the day. At this point they will make sure you know what to do, how to do it and modify any movements if needed. Then you will work on some form of strength or skill training, ie. backsquats or pullup progressions. After the strength/skill portion, you will move onto the conditioning workout. Some times it is as short as 5 minutes, and at other times it will be up to 40+ minutes. Usually the shorter the duration, the higher the intensity. We will usually work in a 10-20 min range. Once your conditioning portion ends, you will be instructed to stretch and mobilize to finish off your class.
At CrossFit Markham you will start out in a safe environment with your coach who will know you personally and guide you each step along the way.
